Hemodialysis Training Program is an
intensive but comprehensive 7 day course. Designed to provide professional and
non-professional participants who seek to enhance their knowledge in
hemodialysis and provide them with an opportunity to learn
hemodialysis in an organized, focus and detail manner.
Hemodialysis Training Program will provide participants with the essential information and hands-on
training needed to provide care for the patients on hemodialysis and
to obtain an entry level position in dialysis. It will also enlighten
the learner of the complexity of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and
focus on the distinct role of the Registered Nurse, Renal Dietitian,
Renal Social Worker, Nephrology and the Patient Care Technician.
Hemodialysis Training program is designed to cover the anatomy and physiology of
the kidney, common causes of ESRD, principles of hemodialysis
procedure, treatment options, commonly used hemodialysis terms and
abbreviations, patient's assessment, nutritional and social needs of
ESRD patients, vascular access and cannulation techniques, infection
control, medications, medical and technical complication, machine
operation and monitoring and setting up of machine and other
hemodialysis device.
